Masks are mandatory at all times and during all onsite programs for the safety of our instructors, staff, and guests.

As we navigate these uncertain times, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility moving forward. Educating the public is a core mission of the Garden, and we’re working toward what that looks like, while maintaining the highest of safety standards. In addition to rigorous sanitation procedures and social distancing guidelines, we will more than likely have to limit class capacities, and cancel certain programs. Our instructors and our students are essential to the Garden, and we want to create an environment in which all feel comfortable and safe, however the COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, and all plans are tentative. For this reason, we have decided to forgo our printed catalog, Grow, and have moved all education information online. All posted events are subject to change.
Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to seeing you all soon at the Garden!

Learning is fun at any age

Learning doesn’t stop when school is over. Norfolk Botanical Garden offers a variety of classes for adults who are still growing their minds. If you want to learn more about gardening from basic how-to, to more advanced garden design, we have a class for you. We also have programs for those who see the Garden as an inspiration for their creative side, with classes in floral design, cooking, art, crafts and more. If you want to use our 175 acres to get healthy, we have classes to get you started (or keep you going) in an active lifestyle.

We also offer special programs that highlight our Garden or the general world of horticulture, from special lectures to trips. When registering for a program, please note the date and time of your reservation.  Some programs may take place outside, please plan accordingly and dress for the weather.  If you are unsure of where your program will be taking place, please contact the Education Department.
