Garden of Tomorrow Member-Only Evenings
Daily from September 14 – September 30
NBG Members also get exclusive access to the Perry Conservatory from 5 – 7pm daily from September 14 – 30! Please keep in mind that the Perry Conservatory will be closed for maintenance on Tuesdays throughout the year. Reservations are required to visit during this timeframe as well as for the remainder of September. Reservations for Members are available now and are filling quickly; don’t miss out!
18th Annual WPA Heritage Day Celebration
September 20 | 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Celebrating the contributions of 200 African American women and 20 African American men, who planted the first azaleas in 1938.

There’s no better time to upgrade your garden than fall, and this year, our Education Department is proud to offer carefully curated gardens – to go! We’ve hand selected a number of tried and true native perennials, that not only complement each other visually, but grow well in similar site conditions.
Fall Plant Sale
Exclusive Member Only Day: Friday Oct 2 from 10AM – 7PM
Open to the Public: Saturday Oct 3 – Sunday Oct 4 from 10AM – 5PM
If you have gardened here for a while, then you know that fall is the best time to plant. Come shop (admission required) from a curated selection of trees and shrubs that thrive in Coastal Virginia, many of which are sought-after natives. We will offer beautiful ornamentals, various fruit trees, shade trees, and shrubs, including easy-to-grow, best-for-this area southern rabbiteye hybrid blueberries.
