Did you know that your breath is the only process that is both automatic and voluntary? Did you know that by controlling the rate and depth of your breathing, you affect the central nervous system and can help reduce stress and anxiety? Breath is the body-mind link and gives you control over your responses to external events.

In this class, you’ll learn how to use your breath as a practical tool for everyday life, strengthen your respiratory system, improve your body-mind connection and promote overall longevity.

You’ll begin by grounding the physical body through light movements, practicing and learning how to move your body with your breath. After releasing tension from the physical body, you’ll be ready to practice specific breathing techniques either seated comfortably or reclined with supported props like bolsters and blankets.

Class will conclude with a restoring relaxation to draw in all the benefits of your practice.

This is a four week course that meets on Tuesdays, June 4-June 25 from 6-7 PM.
