Mushroom Masterclass

Victoria and Christopher, two of thirteen state certified mycologists, will guide you on a fun and immersive journey into the world of fungi. This class provides an exploration of fungal biology, mushroom identification, foraging, cultivation, medicinal mushrooms, mycoremediation, and culinary tips. Students will enjoy an engaging presentation into the world of mycology, a hands on workshop where students will dive into the practical side of mycology by preparing their own shiitake mushroom log while learning how to care for them at home. We will also discuss medicinal mushrooms, preparations, and the benefits associated with them, followed by a cooking demonstration to experience the flavors of the fungal kingdom by tasting a variety of mushrooms and learning about their unique culinary applications.
