This is an in-person, self-guided program! The morning session is sold out – tickets are still available for the afternoon sessions.
Go on a self-guided adventure to learn about the flowers and animal friends who call the Garden home. Each Homeschool Day learning kit includes an activity booklet, markers, a garden starter kit, and a few other materials to help take a closer look at the plants and animals in the Garden. Recommended for children ages 3+ with chaperone participation. Families that do not participate in homeschool are also welcome to participate!
To register, participants will purchase tickets to check in anytime during the morning session bracket (9:30AM-12PM), the afternoon session bracket (12:30PM-3PM), or the evening session bracket (3:30-6:00PM). Check-in will take place at the Baker Hall Visitor Center.
HOMESCHOOL DAY IS RAIN OR SHINE.
NOTE ON FACE COVERINGS:
In compliance with Virginia’s mandates regarding masks/face coverings, NBG commits to the following:
- All guests and volunteers ages 5+ are required to wear a protective mask that covers the mouth and nose when entering any NBG building or structure including outdoor restrooms.
- Our youngest visitors, “Sprouts” over the age of two, are strongly encouraged to wear a mask in compliance with current CDC health and safety recommendations.
- Guests are asked to bring their own personal facemask. NBG has a very limited supply of disposal masks available upon request at the Guest Services desk in Baker Hall.
- Face coverings shall also be required when patrons are outdoors if a distance of six feet from other persons, not associated with one household, cannot be maintained.
Price for NBG Members: $8/child ages 3-17*, Free for NBG Member adults. *Children 2 and under do not require a ticket; however, if they wish to receive the program materials, a ticket must be purchased.
Price for Not-yet Members: $12/child ages 3-17*, $10/adult. *Children 2 and under do not require a ticket; however, if they wish to receive the program materials, a ticket must be purchased. Not-yet-member rates include Garden admission.
Only participating children receive the learning kit. All participating children and attending adults/chaperones must have a registered ticket.
