community events
Are you in the process of planning a community event and interested in having NBG attend? We would love to set up an engaging information booth to help spread the word about all of the exciting things happening at NBG! And who knows — we might even have a few plants to share with attendees! If you’d like to discuss how we can be a part of your event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at outreach@nbgs.org.
Self-Guided Research Pass
NBG is excited to offer students the opportunity to apply for a self-guided research pass, providing access to our expansive 175-acre campus for class projects and independent research in both the sciences and the arts. Home to over 60 gardens, including 6 primary collections and numerous natural areas, NBG is a rich resource brimming with inspiration and information. Each garden offers a unique environment for learning and discovery. Best of all, self-guided research passes are available at no cost to students. Submit an application to be considered.
COMMUNITY PLANT DONATIONS & GARDEN ASSISTANCE
Norfolk Botanical Garden is dedicated to connecting people with nature, both in the Garden and within the community. Occasionally we offer plants for donation to support organizations with garden projects that have a significant community impact. We’re also happy to offer guidance and, when possible, hands-on assistance to help make your project a success. If your organization is seeking donated plants, starting a garden, or looking to revitalize an existing one, please email us at outreach@nbgs.org to discuss how we can assist. For quick plant or garden space questions, reach out to our horticulture and education team at AskAPlantQuestion@nbgs.org.
