Make Your Gift Today to Support The Garden of Tomorrow!
Norfolk Botanical Garden’s Garden of Tomorrow is the largest expansion in the Garden’s history, advancing its mission to connect more people with nature through immersive and sustainable experiences. Building on a legacy that began in the 1930s, when 220 African American Works Progress Administration workers transformed swampland into a thriving public garden, the initiative will introduce a state-of-the-art conservatory, environmentally innovative Entry Pavilion and expanded education and conservation programs.
Supported by strong community investment, The Garden of Tomorrow aims to protect plant diversity, inspire environmental stewardship and position Norfolk Botanical Garden as a leading destination for horticulture and public engagement. Anchored by the 26,000 square foot Perry Conservatory, featuring tropical and desert biomes, and a significant permanent Dale Chihuly glass art collection, the Garden offers visitors a rare intersection of art, nature, and global plant conservation.
With the addition of the Perry Conservatory, Kay and Al Abiouness Skywalk, The Kenneth A. and Patricia A Hall Charitable Foundation Shoreline Restoration, the multi-use performance stage, the Brock Parking Garden, Brock Entry Pavilion and Brock Environmental Education Center, The Garden of Tomorrow paves the way for environmental action and change.
