Fire has long been deeply engrained in the life history of the longleaf pine. Fires as an anthropogenic disturbance have long served a vital role in southern ecosystems for over 10,000 years. Learn about the key role fires have played in shaping the multiple and complex links between the cultural history of the South, ecology, and evolution of southern ecosystems. Indoor presentation followed by an outdoor walking tour.
