Landscaping with Cold Hardy Palms in Hampton Roads

Palms are often thought of as the epitome of tropical landscapes, and faraway places; however, many palm species thrive here in Hampton Roads. In this class, we will learn how to incorporate palms into the Virginia landscape as well as the specific care for different species. We will dispel common gardening myths regarding their care as well as the best horticultural practices to keep palms healthy in our climate. We will also discuss how palms can fit a wide range of landscapes, including low-maintenance options. Indoor presentation followed by an outdoor tour. Walking required.
