WPA Garden Heritage Celebration 2016

Join us for the eighth annual Garden Heritage Celebration. This year’s celebration will feature Norfolk Public School Superintendent Dr. Melinda Boone, as keynote speaker. Barbara Ciara,  Managing Editor at WTKR NewsChannel 3 & WGNT Channel 27 will serve as this year’s mistress of ceremonies.  This event began in 2009 with the unveiling of the commemorative sculpture Breaking Ground and dedication of the WPA Memorial Garden. The memorial honors and celebrates the contributions of the 220 African American workers whose labor created the Garden. Complimentary admission to the Garden between 9am and noon.
