Our annual SPRING PLANT SALE has long been known throughout the region as one of the best places to pick up unusual plants at bargain prices. This year is no exception, with a bumper crop of some of the best looking plants to date.

You’ll find a wide variety of plants from the rare and unusual to proven winners for the Hampton Roads region. Find the perfect plant to create a special look for your yard.

The entire Horticulture Staff will be on hand to give expert help to customers. The Virginia Camellia Society and the Tidewater Rose Society will be selling their specialty plants all weekend and the Virginia Native Plant Society will offer a variety of plants only on Saturday.

Early Bird Special: NBG Members only 9 am – 10 am.

Included with regular Garden admission.

2014 Signature Plant – Milkweed, Asclepias tuberosa (pictured below) milkweed

This signature plant is part of our upcoming Summer Exhibit Mission Monarch: Project Milkweed. The summer exhibit will focus on the issues and solutions for the declining monarch butterfly population. The Monarchs need Milkweed and we need Monarchs – we can all make a difference one plant at a time!
