2015 Signature Plant – Rabbiteye Blueberries, Vaccinium ashei  (pictured below)
Our Signature plant this year is Blueberry, specifically Rabbiteye Blueberries which perform better in the heat and humidity of the South. They also require fewer chilling hours (hours below 40 degrees required to break dormancy and bloom). We will offer the cultivars ‘TifVaccinium ashei Rabbiteye Blueberry (6) Calvin Lipscombblue’, ‘Climax’, and ‘Premier’. These blueberries are  bred selections of native blueberries with attractive blooms, edible, delicious and healthy-for-you fruit (also good for native wildlife), and spectacular, long lasting fall foliage color.
