2012 Exhibit

June 16 – September 3, 2012
Set sail this summer for a Voyage of Discovery. Guests will pick up a Garden passport and map, then embark on an adventure to a land of intrigue, head below deck of the USS Constitution, enjoy treasure hunts, play on Treasure Island, participate in special activities in the Children’s Garden, decode messages, sail the USS BOATanical or rent remote controlled boats. Don’t forget to board our pontoon boats for a special tour on the waters of Lake Whitehurst. Participate in miniature boat races, tug-of-war games, knot tying and other fun throughout the summer.

USS Constitution
Go below decks on the USS Constitution to see how sailors lived in the 1800’s.

Pirate’s Cove
Climb the hill or dig in the sand to find pirate treasure.

Pretend you are the ship’s captain and sail your imaginary ship through the Garden.

Decode the Message
Sailors use flags to send messages. Look for the signal flags on Daffodil Hill and use the clues on the sign to decode the message on the flags.

Rent Radio-Controlled Boats
Rent a Radio Controlled Boat at the Ticket Hut:  $3.00 for 10 minutes between the hours of 12-2pm.

Daily Youth Activities
From 10 to 2 each day the back gate of WOW will be open with lots of crafts and activities for children. Activities include floating toy boats, pirate hats, games of 1812 and more!

Treasure Hunt
Treasure chests are located throughout the Garden. Follow the map to the chests to collect a code word and unscramble the secret phrase.
