AND OUR ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND WORKSHOP FACILITATOR: THOMAS RAINER, CO-AUTHOR OF PLANTING IN A POST-WILD WORLD
GUEST SPEAKER: CAROL HEISER, EDUCATION PROGRAM SECTION MANAGER AND HABITAT EDUCATION COORDINATOR, VA DEPT. OF GAME AND INLAND FISHERIES

The VSLD Board is proud to announce that this year’s educational program for the winter meeting will include nearly four hours of lecture and workshop led by Thomas Rainer (co-author, Planting in a Post-Wild World) with the assistance of Carol Heiser (VSLD member and Education Program Section Manager and Habitat Education Coordinator, VA Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries). Following Carol’s opening introduction, Thomas will discuss his study of plant communities and how their growth patterns can be used to create better, more easily managed designs. We will have lunch after Thomas’s lecture, then will return to the lecture hall to work through an actual design project with Thomas.

The meeting will be on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in their Rose Garden Hall from 9AM to 3PM. After the business meeting, you are invited to explore NBG via a complimentary tram tour or on foot.
VSLD members attending will receive 7 CEUs.
