Aster tataricus ‘Jin-Dai’
The Tatarian aster is a tall flower that blooms in the mid to late-fall. The lavender flowers will present themselves in a cluster on top of a four to five foot tall stem that is strong and does not need staking. It is a tidy plant in the perennial garden, with the foliage staying low in the spring and summer until the stalks shoot up in the fall just before flowering. In the fall, honey bees will happily turn to asters as a source of nectar.
