Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Nigra’
This summer flowering shrub grows about 5 feet high and wide. Glossy black stems support a mophead flower that will be pink or a light blue dependent upon the soil pH. In general, Hydrangeas enjoy moderate temperatures, plenty of moisture and average to high humidity. They can tolerate full sun in cooler areas, but partial shade is a must in zones 7-9.
