Callicarpa americana
This moderate to large growing shrub has a loose growing habit that is sometimes conisdered coarse. Shrubs grow more densely if grown in full sun, but will do well in the open shade under pine trees. It is larger than the Japanese beautyberry and the clusters of fruit are large and noticable. Best if used in large masses at the back of a shrub border or in a naturalized woodland setting.
