NATUREKIDS Summer Camp
Join us for another fun summer in the garden. With the central setting of WOW: A Children’s Adventure Garden, NatureKids camp offers countless opportunities to learn, play, and make new friends. With activities such as tram rides, nature hikes, and outdoor playtime the garden is the perfect setting for children to experience nature. So mark your calenders and sign up early for a summer of fun.
NatureKids Summer Camp is the place for outdoor exploration, friends and fun. Discover the magic of the Garden through expeditions, games, stories, songs and crafts while developing a greater appreciation for the natural world.

SESAME SEEDS HALF-DAY CAMP: Cost/week: $110 ($100 for NBG Members), 9am-12noon (drop off as early as 8:45am), morning snack provided.
SPROUTS & NATURALISTS CAMPS: Cost/week: $210 ($190 for NBG Members), 9am-4pm (drop off as early as 8:45), morning snack provided; campers must bring their own lunches. Children must have completed Kindergarten or an equivalent full-day program. *Multi Session Discount! $800 for all four weeks ($750 for NBG Members)
ADVENTURERS CAMPS: Cost/week: $230 ($210 for NBG Members), 9am-4pm (drop off as early as 8:45), morning snack provided; campers must bring their own lunches. *Full Camp Discount! Only $840 for all four sessions ($800 for NBG Members)
Session 1 June 23-27
|Sesame Seeds Camp||Little Farmers: Ages 4-5 Plant seeds in our veggie plot, make a mini Old MacDonald’s Farm and play at the NatureKids County Fair.|
||Creative Critters: Ages 5-7 Roots to Treetops. Learn about the Garden from under the ground to the highest branches! Play bird bingo, find out what lives under a fallen log, make bird feeders and log everything in your nature journal.|
||Pirates and Platypuses: Ages 7-9 Discover the aquatic world and lands faraway. Learn how people and animals from all around the world use plants in their daily lives. Start your own Global Garden.|
|Adventurers Camp||Nature Leaders in Training: Ages 10-12 Learn the ins & outs of being a nature leader! Play team-building games with co-leaders, shadow Educators as they teach the younger campers and compete in the Garden Survivor Challenge!|
Session 2 July 7-11
|Sesame Seeds Camp||Birds and Butterflies: Ages 4-5 The theme this week is all things winged! Play bird bingo and spend time in the Mission Monarch Migration Station.|
||Super Science: Gooey & Green Ages 5-7 Mix nature concoctions, construct a volcano, create artwork using natural items and reused materials while discovering how plants and animals work together in the Garden.|
||Super Science: Experiments in Nature Ages 7-9 Use the scientific method to learn about natural phenomenon (weather, volcanoes & water cycle) and how plants grow. Make a terrarium, recycled paper and plant dyes.|
|Adventurers Camp||Garden Artists: Ages 9-12 Paint, draw & sculpt like other famous artists who used gardens as inspiration. Make a garden stone, plant a container garden and create a frame using natural materials.|
Session 3 July 14-18
|Sesame Seeds Camp||Lily pads & Toadstools: Ages 4-5 Go on nature adventures based on your favorite storybooks.|
||Storybook Forest: Ages 5-7 From Wonderlands to Dr. Seuss. Explore the Garden through the pages of your favorite stories. Go on a fairytale scavenger hunt, play mini-croquet, paint roses and learn about plants & conservation in the worlds of Dr. Seuss.|
||Adventureland: Ages 7-10 From Harry Potter to the Wizard of Oz. For three days, go to Hogwarts and compete in the House Cup. Attend magical creatures, potions, herbology classes and play Quidditch. Then, head to Oz and other faraway lands to explore how nature plays a role in some of your favorite stories.|
|Adventurers Camp||Garden to Table: Ages 10-12 What’s Cookin’? Learn the basics of botany and how to start and grow your own vegetable plot. Head into the kitchen with a Chef to create salads and master kitchen basics|
Session 4 July 28-August 1
|Sesame Seeds Camp||Critters & Crayons Ages 4-5 Make animal art and learn about the animals that live in the Garden.|
||Jr. Nature Sleuths Ages 5-7 Use your detective skills to solve a Garden mystery! Make a detective kit, study animal tracks, habitats, seeds and more!|
||Sr. Nature Sleuths Ages 7-9 Use your detective skills to solve a Garden mystery! Make a detective kit, study animal tracks, habitats, seeds and more!|
|Adventurers Camp||Garden to Table: Ages 10-12 Global Chefs. Learn how to cook foods from around the world and how to grow the ingredients. Sample spices and study our Passport Gardens.|

HORTICULTURE APPRENTICE PROGRAM July 21-25: Ages 13-16 , Cost/week: $200 ($190 for NBG Members), participants must bring their own lunches, 9am-3pm (for later pick-up, participants may choose to volunteer after each camp day in WOW.)
Learn about gardening from NBG’s professional horticulture staff and get hands on experience. Topics include vegetable gardening, soil basics, botany, organic gardening, native plants, tree care, wildlife in the Garden and much more! Learn about leadership and teamwork and earn a minimum of 10 volunteer hours.
SENIOR LEADERS IN TRAINING Week June 30-July 3: Ages 13-17, Cost: $25 ($20 for NBG Members), additional activities available at additional cost*, 9am-3pm (for later pick-up, participants may choose to volunteer after each camp day in WOW.)
Program includes volunteer t-shirt, teen book club and morning team-building activities. Participants can choose to participate in additional afternoon art, leadership and horticulture classes for an additional fee.* While not participating in classes, volunteers will work as Docents in the WOW Children’s Garden. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours before returning to school! Volunteers must pre-register for the days they will attend, but do not need to participate in the full week. *Classes will be announced April 1.
