Norfolk Botanical Garden actively participates in research programs with other institutions. Two prominent programs the Garden participates in are:
Periodically the Garden will also serve as a test location for other organizations. In the spring of 2008, the Garden trialed both tulips and daffodils for Van Bourgondien.
The Garden is also an active partner with other organizations. We are an active partner in the North American Plants Collections Consortium. We are an official display garden for both the All American Selections program and the All-American Rose Selections program. The Garden has also created an active partnership with Old Dominion University.
Old Dominion Univesity and Norfolk Botanical partner on many projects together.
- Planted the heirloom maize garden in World of Wonders.
- The Garden’s tree collections were included in the multi-institutional World DNA barcoding of Trees of the World project.
